Hi! I’m Tianna and I am a portrait photographer based in Smethwick which is really close to Birmingham. I specialise in newborn, maternity and family photography; most recently weddings! I have always enjoyed photography but more now than ever! I actually qualified as a nurse and midwife before I became a photographer and so with what I specialise in, I still feel so connected to women, baby bumps, birth and beyond.
I live with my partner Ashley and our fun-loving two year old, Olivia! You may see the odd photograph of her around my website. I adore Netflix, I just love to get into a new series of thrillers and action packed movies with my family. I do also love DISNEY! Who doesn’t love a Disney movie? What means the most to me about my photography is being part of such personal experiences, witnessing the love and joy within a family, the adoration of a newborn baby or simply the wild fun of photographing older babies and children.
Why Portrait Photography?
My photography was born out of a desire to capture my daughter as she grew. Since 2016, I decided to pursue my passion and love for creating memories by becoming a portrait photographer to give rise to opportunities to provide this for others. I decided to specialise in maternity, newborn, family and wedding photography because I always have a desire to be a part of some of the most monumental and defining moments in your life.
I think we often overlook the true value of hanging up images on our walls. Smart phone photography plays a huge role in allowing us to take very quick snapshots in our daily lives but rarely do we take time out to print them. Typically it is the last minute or sometimes when it is too late that we realise that those memories will eventually fade. Our babies grow so quick or we missed the chance to capture our pregnancies after our little bundles are in our arms. Legacies begin way before we realise and I aim to preserve the most important things in life and keep your memories as fresh as the day they happened.
The past experiences that I have working as a nurse and also a midwife has taught me about what matters most and witnessing the beginnings of a new life, to the ending of a long one has taught me so much about the meaning and true value of preserving the most precious and meaningful memories. With that, I owe my strong ability to safely care for your newborn baby for the duration of your baby’s portrait session and that of your own during your pregnancy. Rest assured that you are in safe and trusting hands.
I have a home studio based in Smethwick which is a cosy and warm environment, particularly for when your newborn baby and you come for your portrait session. Easily accessible from local areas such as Bearwood, Oldbury, Harborne and Edgbaston. Also a little further across the M5 from Walsall, Great Barr, Solihull, Erdington and Sutton Coldfield.
Many parents enjoy being in a comfortable and relaxed environment whilst they watch me photograph their newborn baby. Comfort is a priority and I feel it fosters great conversation. Some have even fallen asleep to the womb sounds I often play on my iPad during newborn photography sessions.
Documentary Style Wedding Photography
Wedding Photography with me provides a documentary approach, capturing the day as it happens. I believe that the best of the memories from your day are reignited witnessing the joy, happiness and love shared on your Wedding Day betweeen you and all who were there with you. I particularly enjoy paying attention to the tiniest of details that hold so close to you. They say, a picture tells a thousand words and this underpins my belief in that your wedding photography gallery should tell the story of your love on your wedding day.
As priority for your safety in any event and reimbursement (I hope we would not need) I am fully insured with public liability cover and therefore you have peace of mind that I ensure you are well taken care of when in my studio or whether I am capturing your day.
I joined the SWPP as a great learning and supportive resource for photographers like me as I am committed to my craft and improving in all the ways that I can.
I also joined the Baby and Newborn Photography Association as a commitment to newborn photography and baby photography safety. Although they are not an accredited association, they pride themselves on highlighting the importance of SAFE newborn posing when doing photography.
