Back in March 2020, the government announced a lawful lockdown to minimise the risk of transmission of Covid-19. This meant the closure of my business, along with the cancellations and rescheduling of planned maternity, newborn, family, commercial, milestone and first birthday sessions. This brought frustration, sadness and disappointment to all my incredible clients, including myself.

We have all been doing an incredible job keeping to the rules and doing our part to keep as many people safe as possible.

We are now in a position to be returning to what may be described as a new normal.

Therefore I am pleased to announce that I will be reopening from the 15th of June 2020 to offer Maternity photoshoots to clients. As the lockdown restrictions lift, I will be able to consider more, slowly reintroducing other sesssions. I anticipate the possibility of being able to shoot newborn sessions from the beginning of July. With the social distancing ruling still in place, this means that to safely continue business, I need to have provisions in place to minimise and avoid contact wherever possible. The plans are as follows:

  • I will only allow a small number of customers in my studio during sessions.

  • Please remove footwear and outdoor wear (coats) upon entry and placing them in designated areas.

  • This includes the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) handwashing access and the use of alcohol handgels/sanitisers, antibacterial moisturisers to protect your skin and minimise transmission from touch.

  • A process for cleaning between sessions and a space of 24 hours between clients.

  • All items of clothing worn that belong to my maternity studio will be disinfected and washed after use.

  • At the moment, refreshments will not be provided and I request that you bring your own (water, small snacks).

  • Any furnishings that are not covered with covers, hard props and flooring will be steam cleaned after use.

  • High contact areas such as door handles will be disinfected after sessions.

  • Face masks will be used during the sessions due to the space we are in.

  • 2m distance will be kept as much as possible during the session (studio length 6m).

  • Please only bring what you need to the session, to keep the space clear and clutter free.

  • Finally, if you or any member of your household has been unwell with the following:

– Sore throat

– cough

– temperature

– generally feeling unwell

or, has been in contact with someone who has, then please let me know as soon as possible, your session will be rescheduled.

If you want to enquire about booking in a maternity session or want to know more, please use the enquiry form below.

Please email me at tianna@tiannajwilliamsphotography.co.uk for general enquiries about photoshoots in Birmingham.

I will be in touch with clients who’s sessions were not able to go ahead over the coming days this week!

Looking forward to getting back into the studio to capture some beautiful baby bumps for maternity photographs and prepare for the following newborn baby photoshoot sessions ahead.

Why Printed Photographs Are More Secure Than Digital Files

Printed photographs offer something digital files cannot: true ownership and permanence.

A professionally printed photograph does not rely on software updates, servers or passwords. It exists independently of technology.

When produced using archival-quality printing, photographs can last for generations without fading or deteriorating. They become physical heirlooms that can be passed down through families.

This is one of the reasons fine art photography has always been associated with luxury photography studios and high-end portraiture. Prints transform images from temporary files into tangible pieces of history.

Unlike digital images floating across the internet, a printed photograph remains exactly where you choose it to be.

In your home.
In your hands.
In your family’s story.

Why Printing Your Maternity and Family Photographs Matters

Pregnancy and early motherhood represent one of the most significant chapters in a woman’s life.

These are moments that pass quickly but carry deep emotional meaning. A maternity photography session captures the anticipation, strength and beauty of this season.

Yet when those photographs remain only as digital files, they can easily become lost among thousands of other images.

Printing your photographs ensures they become part of your everyday environment.

A framed maternity portrait in the bedroom.
A newborn photograph displayed in the hallway.
A fine art album documenting your journey into motherhood.

These pieces do more than decorate a home. They create visual anchors for your family story.

Research consistently shows that children who grow up seeing photographs of themselves and their families displayed in the home develop a stronger sense of belonging and identity.

Your photographs become more than memories.

They become part of the emotional landscape of your home.

Luxury Photography Is Designed to Be Printed

Luxury portrait photography has always been about more than delivering digital files.

The intention is to create artwork worthy of display.

Fine art prints, handcrafted albums and museum-quality wall pieces elevate photography from something that lives on a screen to something that becomes part of your home’s design.

The difference between scrolling past a photograph on a phone and walking past a beautifully framed portrait every day is profound.

Printed photography invites you to slow down.

To remember.

To reconnect with the moment that image represents.

Protecting Your Family Memories in an AI World

Artificial intelligence is transforming the digital landscape in ways that are still unfolding.

Images online can now be analysed, altered, replicated or repurposed with increasing sophistication. While many of these developments bring exciting possibilities, they also highlight the importance of safeguarding personal photographs.

Printing your most meaningful images offers a simple yet powerful layer of protection.

A physical photograph cannot be scraped by algorithms.
A fine art album cannot be copied from a server.
A framed portrait remains entirely within your control.

For families who value authenticity, privacy and legacy, print offers reassurance that digital storage alone cannot provide.

Creating Photographs That Last a Lifetime

As both a specialist maternity photographer and a practising midwife, I have the privilege of witnessing extraordinary moments in a family’s journey.

Pregnancy is a time of transformation. It deserves to be documented with intention and preserved with care.

My approach to maternity photography is rooted in creating timeless images that are designed not only to be admired today, but to remain part of your family story for decades to come.

That is why printed artwork and heirloom albums remain at the heart of the experience.

Because the photographs that matter most should never be left vulnerable to technology alone.

They deserve to live where they belong.

On your walls.
In your home.
And one day, in the hands of the next generation.

If You Are Considering a Maternity Photography Session

If you are currently pregnant and considering maternity photography in the West Midlands, choosing a photographer who offers archival-quality prints and albums ensures your images will be preserved beautifully.

Luxury maternity photography is not just about creating images.

It is about creating a legacy.

And the most powerful way to protect that legacy will always be through print.
